PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Tania Varela is a litigator with over 10 years of experience handling civil litigation cases for corporate and individual clients in both state and federal courts. She received her Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Florida in 2008. While attending law school, Tania served as a research assistant at the Levin College of Law, a teaching assistant, and a Florida Supreme Court legal intern at the Office of the Public Defender in Alachua County. Tania graded on to the Journal of Law and Public Policy and received book awards in legal research and writing and trial practice.

Tania graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the Honors College at Florida International University with a double-major in economics and political science. While a student at FIU, Tania was an officer of the Honors Council, Academic Affairs Chairperson on the University Student Government, Founding Member of the Pre-Law Fraternity, President of the Political Science Honor Society and President of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Tania also interned at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. while enrolled in a summer program at Georgetown University.  During law school, she served at the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center in Miami, where she was a member of the Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking divisions.

Tania is a native of Havana, Cuba and is fluent in Spanish.
